De Department of Arts belongs to the policy domain Culture, Youth and Media (CYM). The Department of Arts is the executor of the arts policy of the Flemish Government.
As an excutor of the Flemish Government's policy, the Department of Arts actively contributes to the development of a qualitative and diverse (professional) arts landscape.
The Department of Arts has the following duties:
- accredition, subsidisation and supervision
- support of committees
- networking within policy fields (national and international)
- preparation and evaluation of policy
