[https://hetarchief.be/ hetarchief.be]. Vlaanderen heeft een rijkdom aan beeld en geluid, bewaard bij verschillende organisaties: van cultureelerfgoed- en podiumkunsteninstellingen tot overheid en omroepen. [[Meemoo, Vlaams instituut voor het archief|meemoo]], het vroegere VIAA, digitaliseert dit analoge audiovisuele materiaal waar nodig en bewaart het samen met bestaande digitale collecties duurzaam in zijn eigen archiefsysteem. Vaak is het materiaal zelf auteursrechtelijk beschermd en kan het dus niet zomaar online getoond worden. Op het [https://hetarchief.be/ hetarchief.be] kan je dus niet het beeld en geluid zelf raadplegen, maar wel beschrijvingen, titels en trefwoorden van de items die door meemoo gedigitaliseerd werden. Eens je gevonden hebt wat je zocht, kan je zelf contact opnemen met de instellingen die de archieven en collecties die je interesseren beheren om alsnog de stukken te raadplegen. Het is niet mogelijk om zelf je archief en/of collectie in te voeren. Raadpleeg hiervoor [[Meemoo, Vlaams instituut voor het archief|meemoo]] of een erfgoedorganisatie die rond jouw type erfgoed werkt.

Meemoo, formerly VIAA, digitises this analogue audiovisual content where necessary and stores it sustainably together with digital collections in its own archive system. The content itself is often copyright protected and so can’t simply be displayed online. This means you cannot consult the audiovisual content itself at hetarchief.be, but you can look up the descriptions, titles and keywords for the items digitised by meemoo. One you’ve found what you’re looking for, you can contact the organisations that manage the content you’re interested in to find out more. It is not possible to add your own archive and/or collection. Please contact meemoo or a heritage organisation that works with your type of heritage for more information.
