Berichtdefinitie (Omgaan met digitale dragers in je archief)
* Maak een inschatting van de opslagcapaciteit die je nodig hebt. Groepeer hiervoor de dragers per type en vermenigvuldig de capaciteit van elk type met het aantal exemplaren om de benodigde opslagcapaciteit te berekenen.
* Gebruik een computer die je regelmatig op virussen controleert en die je enkel voor dit werk gebruikt.

* Documenteer van alle digitale dragers de mappenstructuur en bestandsinformatie (bestandsnaam, grootte of wijzigingsdatum). Hiervoor kan je gebruik maken van [[Bestanden uit je digitaal archief identificeren met DROID|DROID]]. Bewaar deze documentatie bij je archief en collectie(s).
