TRACKS is a network of organisations that combine their expertise to provide information and services to help artists and arts organisations look after their archives and collections. The network consists of heritage organisations that provide services and manage collections, assisted by support centres for the arts and cultural heritage sector and the Department of Culture. Professionals, amateurs, and subsidised and non-subsidised individuals and organisations can come to the TRACKS website and network for information and advice.

TRACKS originated from the ‘Heritage care in the arts sector’ project (July 2013 – June 2014), with the aim of encouraging the arts sector to look after its archives and collections. The online toolbox that was launched as part this project has since been developed further with partner organisations and deployed as part of their own services. This ensures the various partners can provide expertise effectively and efficiently across different domains in order to safeguard a sustainable future for arts heritage.

In 2019 stelde het netwerk volgende missie, visie en doelstellingen op.

-TRACKS is het resultaat van het project 'Erfgoedzorg in de kunstensector' (juli 2013 – juni 2014). Het wil binnen de kunstensector de zorg voor het eigen archief en collectie(s) stimuleren. Via de online TRACKS-toolbox worden hiervoor handige tools aangereikt. Daarnaast sensibiliseert het project de kunstensector rond de aspecten duurzaamheid en preservering in creatie, ontsluiting en presentatie. De uitvoering van het project is in handen van PACKED vzw, expertisecentrum digitaal erfgoed.

-creatie van een toolbox voor archieven en collecties in de kunstensector;
-opstellen van een roadmap voor sensibilisering en dienstverlening;
-dissemineren van projectresultaten en sensibiliseren omtrent duurzaamheid.
-Vanaf het najaar van 2013 werd het project uitgebreid met een samenwerkingsovereenkomst met het agentschap Kunsten en Erfgoed.
